The Unconscious Child Within

  • Chapter
The Right Brain and the Unconscious

Abstract

The human mind is multidimensional, multifaceted, and consists of several levels. The relatively easily accessible conscious mind resides in the left half of the brain. The right brain is associated with social-emotional, nonlinguistic unconscious awareness. The most primitive, relatively inaccessible, almost purely emotional aspect of the mind is referred to simply as the unconscious and is associated with the limbic system.
