Abstract

The data presented in this paper are part of a larger project on “classification and course of functional psychoses” in this project a representative sample of 200 patients with an ICD-diagnosis of 295, 296, 297 or 298 at their first admission to either the Psychiatric Clinic, University of Vienna or to the Psychiatric Hospital of the City of Vienna were interviewed during this first admission with an extended version of Present State Examination and each patient was diagnosed by the interviewer according to ICD-9 (1978) and DSM-III (1980) and was rated positive or negative for a series of different diagnostic criteria for functional psychoses
