Caring and being cared for

  • Chapter
Challenges in Caring

Abstract

‘Care’ is a simple word. But the concept it stands for turns out to be more complex. A care may be a worry, a burdened state of mind arising from fear, a doubt or a concern. To be charged with the care of someone or something is to be responsible for the well-being of that person or object. To care for someone is to supply protection and preservation. Care can be a feeling, concern or interest in something, providing food, being available, looking after someone or something.
