Abstract
The application of an early identification procedure presupposes that there is an effective treatment for those who are identified. This chapter examines what is known about the process of intervention for children with language impairment. It begins by discussing the goal of intervention and goes on to look at a variety of different approaches to treatment. The chapter then turns to the way in which the appropriate behaviours are described and goes on to examine two methodologies which are used to determine change following intervention.
