Abstract
Theories abound concerning the exact nature and the genesis of artistic creativity. It has been suggested, for example, that music may be a language none of us has to learn, since we may inherit it by virtue of being born human, as we inherit the ability to weep. Pythagoras and his followers believed in a “music of the spheres,” kept in tune with the universe by fundamental acoustical and numerological rules.
