Abstract
The effect of hydrostatic pressure on fish may be examined in two ways, by subjecting fish to different pressures and observing changes in their biochemistry, physiology and behaviour or by observing the characteristics of fish caught at different depths and inferring whether these characteristics are pressure-related or not.
