Abstract

Prevention is a subject in medicine that is very similar to alcoholism among the attitudes of the physicians. Unfortunately, too many physicians give up too easily in the battle against the onset of an illness. If a fraction of effort and money that is expended in treatment of illness would be devoted to prevention, perhaps much savings in cost, suffering, and lives might result.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Benjamin Franklin
