Abstract
Results obtained with the SPHINX system in the study of diabetes and jaundice are presented and attention drawn to the fragmentary nature of these essentially preliminary results. In fact, many methodological problems present when validating this type of system. Merely concordant results between the system and the expert are quite inadequate to appreciate fully the expertise of the system or the benefit it may have for potential users.
