Abstract
A general practitioner meets on average only two cases of primary bone tumour in his career. It is, therefore, not surprising that frequently a bone tumour has become advanced before it is diagnosed, having been treated meanwhile as ‘growing pains’, osteo-arthritis or other more familiar conditions.
