The Goal

Abstract

Looking into the dark night sky we feel a tingle of excitement as we are overcome by its grandeur and beauty. Each point of light we see is the image of a star, an image of light that may have left the star long before we were born. The universe is vast beyond imagination—almost terrifying in its intensity and complexity. The light from some objects you can see has traveled through space for over a million years, yet this same beam of light would cover the distance from the earth to the moon in less than 2 seconds.
