Abstract
The domain wall multiplication in the amorphous alloy Fe81B14Si3C2 investigated as a function of stress and temperature. Optical observations of the domain pattern, performed in conjunction with a.c. permeability measurements, show that new 180° domains grow from small nuclei where the local stresses are frozen-in during the rapid quenching. Such instability of the domain structure is compared with the intrinsic dynamic instability of a single domain wall.
