Abstract
Given the technological importance of semiconductors, a great deal of first-principles work has been done for these systems ever since the early days of local density computations. The first-principles calculations of dielectric response in semiconductors can be classified into three categories: (i) TDLDA calculations; (ii) frozen-field calculations; and (iii) self-energy corrected TDLDA.
