Abstract
Behavior modification procedures used in laboratory and clinical settings have proven useful in managing and treating autistic children (Margolies, 1977). The fact that significant gains were made following limited exposure to a select few behavioral procedures argues convincingly for their potency and applicability in both educational and family settings. In point of fact, behavior modification techniques were incorporated in almost all of the programs designed for autistic children between the years 1971 and 1976 (Sullivan, 1976).
