Abstract
The concept of a solid state energy storage cell has been proven technically feasible by numerous researchers over a period of at least 30 years [1]. The related concept of a solid state rechargeable cell has also been proven technically feasible [2,3]. The very important factor of commercial viability for solid state energy storage cells and batteries (solid state is herein meant to be no liquid or gaseous phases throughout the range of cell operating capability) has not been demonstrated [4].
