Designing a Solid Electrolyte III. Proton Conduction and Composites

  • Chapter
Solid State Microbatteries

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 217))

Abstract

Among the ions, the proton is unique in the character of its bonding and hence in the variety of movements available to it. In any discussion of the basic proton movements, it is necessary to distinguish at the outset the hydrogen bonding in hydrides from that encountered in ionic materials.
