The Effects of the Geological and Physico-chemical Factors on the Distribution of Marine Plants and Animals in the Mediterranean

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO Conference Series ((E,volume 8))

Abstract

Considering the spectacular results of deep-sea geological drilling, as well as the new outlook on the expansion of the ocean bottoms and on continental drift, and especially on the evolution of palaeoclimates, one can trace the evolution of the oceans and therefore better understand the present evolution of marine flora and fauna.
