Abstract

The investigation of domain structures and domain walls is of major importance for the interpretation of numerous properties of ferromagnets, such as the balance between exchange, magnetostatic, and crystalline anisotropy energy, as well as for applications in magnetic technology. The experimental progress made in the past few years has made the growth of ultrathin magnetic layers down to a single monolayer possible.
