Time-Resolved Avalanches in SF6 Under Geometrically-Perturbed Uniform Field

  • Chapter

Abstract

There is technical interest for the ability of experimentally producing rapid space-charge growth in a stressed gaseous dielectric. For instance, to simulate residual-charge effects during the recovery phase of an interrupting medium. Or, to help in the assessment of a mixed-voltage situation, e. g. when both DC and time-varying voltages superposed to stress a gas-insulated gap.
