Abstract
In recent years, the problems tackled by experimentalists and theoreticians in fluid dynamics have grown considerably. Sophisticated flow facilities like large size or high speed wind tunnels are the basis for ambitious experiments, and powerful computers allow modeling of very complex flow fields. Interest has turned to nonstationary flows, their spatial structures and their development in time. An ultimate aim is to measure and understand the evolution of turbulence.
