Russian Dialectical-Materialist Psychology

Classical Conditioning and Its Relation to Mentation and Language

  • Chapter
Psychology and Education

Abstract

By way of preamble necessary to bring the topic to date, we quote the following:

Momentous events [are] now occurring throughout the former “Marxist” world. [Now that] East and West. . . seek firmer grounds of mutual understanding, it is even more important to recognize certain philosophical and quasi-scientific assumptions that have been sources of division. It is also important for readers to know that Marxism does not require a mindless psychology and that Capitalism does not require selfishness. (D.N. Robinson, personal communication, 1990)
