Abstract
As part of a training systems innovation project, an experiment concerning distance education was started at one of the training institutes of the Army Training Command (ATC). A new distance education course was developed, replacing a two-week, full-time Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) training of NCO’s and officers. The development and implementation of distance education courses has consequences for all parties involved: the student, his commander, the instructor, the course developer and the training institute.
Allthough many difficulties have been encountered, the results so far are promising. At this moment the ATC is working on a Distance Education Policy. It is very likely that in the near future more distance education courses will be developed.
