Abstract
The transferability of Educational materials and systems is regarded as very important with relation to the growing needs for flexibility of education and the reduction of cost.
In practice, however, the straightforward transfer of educational materials and systems appears to raise problems in many cases.
It can be argued that this should not be seen as a simple misfortune, but has logical grounds which can be anticipated and acted upon from the perspective of Educational Technology. From this perspective, more and less effective approaches to solve the problem of transfer are discussed, including some developments in technology to help education in this respect.
