Abstract
In order to complete a discussion of the role of agents and intermediaries in technology transfer, it may be valuable to examine the analogous roles of agents and intermediaries in other fields where success has been achieved. The author has had an opportunity to observe the role of agents in the literary trades and motion picture production, where governmental subsides are minimal. To the extent that the analogy is relevant, the “Hollywood Agent” model, presented here, offers a free market approach to technology transfer if certain cultural and employment practices among scientists and engineers can be modified.
