Phase Stability and Sintering of Multiphase Alloy Systems

  • Chapter

Abstract

A common objective of sintering studies is the achievement of an understanding of the effect of sintering variables — time, temperature, applied pressure (if used), powder size, and composition (including additives and atmosphere control) — so that suitable control of variables can lead to products with the required microstructure (commonly small grain size) and high density.
