Abstract
The association of blunt-penetrating trauma, thermal burns, and radiation injury has been witnessed only once—after the detonation of atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. In the years that followed, many lessons were learned from the survivors, but little documentation of the medical effects of these combined injuries is available.
