Purification and Partial Characterization of the PAF Antagonist from the Saliva of the Leech Hirudo Medicinalis

Abstract

We have found in the saliva of the leech Hirudo medicinalis a low-molecular weight fraction which powerfully inhibits platelet aggregation induced by PAF and thrombin, and by no other aggregating agent (1).
