Recently, marine archaeological expeditions visited the White Sea, at the northern border of the European part of the Russian Federation. The White Sea is a shallow sea with many shoals, banks and islands. The Solovetsky Archipelago, situated in the Onega Bay of the sea, is a real “pearl” of this region. It is famous for its wonderful nature, with a remarkable harmony of forests, rocky landscapes, lakes and channels, as well as objects made by man (Figure 1).
