Abstract
Malignant thymomas are by definition locally invasive with extrathoracic spread being unusual. Metastasis to the breast has been documented in only 2 patients (1, 5). The breast is, in general an uncommon site for metastases, comprising only 1.2% of all breast tumors in one large series (4). However, carefull post-mortem examination of the breast in cases of malignant neoplasm would probably reveal more cases (7). The commonest primary tumors that metastasize to the breast are contralateral breast cancer, melanoma, lymphoma and leukaemia (2, 7).
