Abstract
Since 1999, MQTT has known tremendous growth and adoption. The inception of the Mosquitto and Paho projects at the Eclipse Foundation in 2012–2013 created an open, vendor-neutral community around the protocol. The most successful ecosystems are those that start and stay open.
