Abstract

Bar charts and their functional equivalents are used for categorical data. The data of an enterprise, organization, government, or researcher has keys or qualifiers that are categories, such as product, service, customer, area (e.g., region), etc. There is also data with variables that are dates, times, or datetimes, also known as time series data, trend data, or temporal data, but that is a subject of Chapter 8.
