Abstract

Everything is connected to everything else, so the saying goes, and if anything the coronavirus pandemic showed us just how interconnected we all are and how we rely so heavily on each other. Part of this is down to the “just in time” approach modern businesses take for their supply chains. There’s no point in sitting on a bunch of components, where you have to pay for storage and insurance, and doubly so if you’re not entirely certain of the demand for the product you’d make with them anyway.
