Abstract
Being able to export from R makes R more useful. Objects or expressions may be exported to files, connections, or the console and objects. Since RStudio does not have specialized methods for exporting objects (except for documents in the Source subwindow—covered in the last section of Chapter 2), only command line R methods are covered here. In this chapter, we discuss exporting from the command line to external files on the computer, to connections (note that the first section of Chapter 9 gives most of the connection functions and the setting for the connections), and to the console and objects.
