Abstract
In this chapter, you will learn Linux basics to get you up to speed with the essential Linux administration skills that you will learn in Chapter 8. Since you probably already work in network automation, you do not have to become a full-time Linux administrator. However, you must know what you are doing on these systems so that you do not bring down the critical services running on enterprise Linux systems. Other Python network automation books often forget to mention the importance of general Linux administration skills for network automation purposes. In fact, Linux and Python network automation go hand in hand.
