Abstract
This chapter discusses a real-world case study related to the performance optimization of a legacy application. The case study covers various performance challenges that you normally face with legacy applications. You look at various methods to optimize the performance of a legacy application. In this case study, you leverage the performance assessment framework from Chapter 3. You start with a performance assessment approach, including a scope and assessment checklist. The next section discusses a complete performance assessment exercise across all layers. Based on the outcome of the assessment exercise, performance optimization recommendations, and best practices are provided.
