Abstract

In this chapter, you’ll learn how Excel worksheets use three types of data: text, numeric, and date/time. It is important to understand the different types of data. You will learn how to insert characters that aren’t available on your keyboard. The chapter covers resizing columns and rows, correcting typing mistakes, how to create custom lists and add notes and comments to your spreadsheets. You will work with Excel tools: AutoCorrect to make corrections and shortcuts for entering words and phrases, AutoFill tool to create duplicate cells and create a series, and the tools AutoComplete and Pick from Drop-Down List to improve and speed data entry.
