Abstract

In this chapter, we’ll look at some useful commands for checking the details of the hardware on the machine you’re using or connecting to. When connecting to a machine via SSH, you may not know all the details about what kind of hardware you’re dealing with. Even if you’re using a machine you’re used to or some embedded device, you may not know all the details. Additionally, if you are completely familiar with the hardware of a device, you may be able to find hardware issues by checking the details to see if they match up with what you’ve expected.
