Abstract
Over the last few decades, the costs of storage and computational power have decreased, while capacity and performance have increased exponentially. Network availability and bandwidth too are much faster, and we are seeing a huge proliferation of network-connected sensors and devices. Together, these factors have played a significant role in the modern-day data deluge.
