Abstract

The solution of differential equations is one of the most important and challenging areas of mathematics. Differential equations arise naturally in many areas of medicine, economics, physics, and engineering. They are normally introduced in schools and solved by integral calculus. This is an excellent introduction to the subject but, as we have seen in other areas of this book, in real life the analytical methods cannot be used and computational techniques are called upon.
