Abstract

In this chapter, we will cover the various mechanisms for authentication, authorization, and security for your SharePoint farm. NTLM, Kerberos, and SAML will be covered, along with their advantages and disadvantages throughout the farm. We’ll also take a look at transport security via TLS (SSL) and IPsec. Lastly, we’ll take a look at the Windows Firewall and what the best practices are for the SharePoint environment.
