Abstract

An often-overlooked fact about design is that most people already know how to do it. If you have sketched out an idea of something that you want to make, whether it’s a toy, a piece of furniture, or an article of clothing, you have designed. At its essence, design is no more than the sketching out of ideas that can be turned into actual objects and systems. From that perspective, anyone who has ever created anything is a designer.
