Abstract
In the previous chapters, you have learned the basics of PHP and MySQL/MariaDB. These concepts have provided a foundation that can be used to create a full database-driven website. In this chapter, we will use these skills and an example product catalog to create a fully functional database-driven site. Most e-commerce websites incorporate a catalog to display products and services. Some websites use catalogs to display items that cannot be purchased over the Internet, such as tourist attractions or houses. The tutorials in this chapter assume a real estate agency is offering various types of houses in a limited region. Real estate is an excellent example of a website that has a catalog for the user to browse but not actually purchase anything. Buying a house (for most people) over the Internet is impractical. Sensible buyers will view a property and its location before even considering the purchase.
