Abstract

I would assume all airlines list safety as their first corporate priority. The customer experience, while important, does not equate to the criticality of customer health. In the technology world filled with 1s and 0s, data security takes on a role analogous to that of airline passenger safety. Anyone would agree that user functionality and experience are of extremely high importance to Salesforce users; yet, the corresponding satisfaction from those factors will never outweigh the need for a secure system that provides access to those in need and prevents access from those who should be excluded. In other words, it’s a great thing to have a powerful, useful application at one’s fingertips, but if that application does not appropriately guard private or confidential data, its added value is likely eliminated.
