Abstract

As tempting as it may be to just dive in and start building a Salesforce community—especially considering the declarative capabilities of the platform I discussed in Chapter 1—proper planning and design of your community will firmly establish a much more likely path to success. Ironically, the presentation that I’ve delivered the most over the past few years has been my “Create a Lightning Community (in 30 minutes)” session; audiences in Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago have seen me start from scratch and build a branded, functional community in minutes. However, that session was not about the process to address business needs and customer challenges through a community but rather to show the flexibility of the platform and its enablement of rapid development.
