Abstract

There are numerous channels that a conversation can pass through. Though most of them implement the basic text-based conversation styles, like request/reply, there are a few characteristics that are specific to each channel. Bot developers can use the channel-specific characteristics via the underlying platform and provide an enriched experience to bot users. In this chapter, we will learn how to use the channels and channel data that exist in the Microsoft Bot framework’s vast ecosystem. We will build a bot that uses the personalized features of the underlying channels by customizing the payload.
