Beginning Serverless Computing

Abstract

In this chapter, we will use Google Cloud Platform to develop serverless applications and explore differences between Google as a cloud provider and Azure and Amazon as cloud providers. To create these applications, we will use Cloud functions, HTTP requests, Google Cloud Storage bucket, and Cloud Pub/Sub topics. We will also explore different use cases for HTTP and storage triggered functions so we get a better understanding of the breadth and depth of serverless applications. By the end of this chapter, we will have three serverless applications and experience with several Google Cloud services.
