Part of the Contemporary Systems Thinking book series (CST)

In the previous two chapters an orientation was provided about design as a human activity and about approaches to the design of social systems. Three questions were explored: What is design, how does design work, and why do we need it? In this chapter we build on the experience gained in the two previous chapters and develop a more advanced understanding of the nature of design, and the approaches, methods, and tools of design.
