The Assessment of Depression in Schizophrenia

Abstract

The presence of depressive symptoms and syndromes in schizophrenia were described by Kraepelin (1) and Bleuler (2). Subsequently, much of the attention devoted to depression in schizophrenia focused on its significance for prognosis and diagnosis (3–8).
