Nitrate Reduction in the Subsoil

  • Chapter
Denitrification in the Nitrogen Cycle

Part of the book series: NATO Conference Series ((E,volume 9))

Abstract

Nitrate and ferrous iron relationship was investigated in three soil profiles down to 20 m. Samples from the profiles were investigated for their ability to transform nitrate to the gas nitrous oxide and nitrogen in laboratory experiments under anaerobic conditions.
