Using a Formal Model as a Meta-Model in the Analysis of Team Behavior in Organizations

Abstract

Many organisations, in response to rapidly changing environments, are adopting structural strategies that are dependant upon the creation and operation of ‘teams’ in order to achieve the flexibility of operation and responsiveness required by their market place and customers. The behaviour of these teams will often determine the effectiveness and success of the organisation as a whole, hence the understanding of how teams work in their own organisation is an important part of assessing the effectiveness of organisational performance.
