In this chapter we discuss the design and methodology required to identify and analyze patterns of offending across the most crime-prone years. The benefits of such procedures will be highlighted and compared to the procedures followed in prior research. Following this, we present the technique of investigation adopted in this study and its advantages and limitations will be fully noted and elaborated.
